Handy Weather from Epocware is an easy to use weather application for your S60 3rd Edition phone. It has a user friendly UI and does its job perfectly. It has been hailed as the best weather app for S60 for quite a while. After using it I think to know why that is so. With Handy Weather it is possible to get weather forecasts for over 40000 preset cities worldwide. Therefore it has the most complete wireless weather coverage available at the moment. The weather data is provided by Intellicast. A big plus point of this app is its operating speed which allows you to get your weather information much faster than with any browser. Besides that the weather updates only require very little of data so you don’t have to worry too much about your mobile data plan.
After starting Handy Weather for the first time you have to pick the city where you reside and then have to set up the auto-update interval. Then you can move on to 4 different views. Those are a 5 day weather forecast, a 5 day temperature graph, current conditions and a detailed forecast. In the 5 day graphs there are two viewing options. In the first one you will get to see the weather and highest temperature for the next 5 days and in the second one the weather and the lowest temperature. Handy Weather can also give you information like wind direction/speed and humidity for a specific day.
This app comes with 3 weather maps: temperature map, pressure map and satellite map. Additionally to that Handy Weather features a screen saver mode which replaces the usual date/time bar with a notification of the current weather and a forecast of the upcoming day.
